CENTENARY OF THE RETURN OF THE CZECHOSLOVAK LEGIONS

They wanted We would like to address you, pupils and students, with a request for your cooperation in the preparation of commemorative celebrations, exhibitions and a conference to be held in 2020 to mark the centenary of the return of the centenary of the return of the Czechoslovak legions from Russia to their homeland. For this purpose, a permanent exhibition has been prepared in the House of the Army Czechoslovak Legions 1914-1920, which is part of the project:

CENTENARY OF THE RETURN OF THE CZECHOSLOVAK LEGIONS

The aim is to inform the public about little-known areas of our history, namely the activities of our legions in the years 1914-1920, to lead pupils to interest in recent history and tradition of Czechoslovakia and the Czech Republic. We want to encourage pupils and students to search for the fate of their ancestors and to create a centenary family tree.

Although the project is primarily about the legionnaires, we would like to record the lives and fates of all the soldiers of the First World War.

How to start?

Visit the exhibition and get more information. Ask parents, grandparents, neighbours, friends and record their memories. Explore photo albums and family archives. You will be surprised at what you will find.

What's next for the project?

Memories, documents and photographs will be published in the form of exhibitions, printed editions, presented at a conference at the Army House in Olomouc, or in an electronic presentation. The results of the activity will be presented on web pages of the school and the Museum of the Czechoslovak Legions Olomouc z.s.

In November 2020, a conference will be held at the House of Army in Olomouc (date to be specified).

Participation in conference - primary school pupils, secondary and university students, representatives of organizations and associations.
